REB: Time table of English Test for Secondary teachers

RE: English placement tests for lower Secondary school teachers
English language is used as a medium of instruction in schools, the Ministry of Education through Rwanda Basic Education Board (REB) and Development Partners in Ecducation is conducting a series of trainings for
teachers, tutors and school leaders in order to improve English Language Proficiency and enhance the quality
of teaching and learning.
In the same perspective, the Secondary Teachers English Language Improvement Rwanda (STELIR) project
in collaboration with REB is planning an upcoming English language level-based training to Rusizi, Nyamasheke, Karongi, Gicumbi, Kamonyi, Gisagara and Nyaruguru Lower Secondary school teachers. The English Placement Test will serve as basis for the English proficiency training.
Based on the above, I would like to inform you of the forthcoming English placement test that will be undertaken by Secondary 1,2 and 3 teachers from the 7 districts mentioned above, from 18 February to 18 March 2023. The purpose of the English placement test is to explore the proficiency level so that every participant gets the right support as far as the training is concemed. The test will be administered by the British Council for the Secondary Teachers English Language Improvement Rwanda project (STELIR) in collaboration with Rwanda Basic Education Board. The plan and dates are attached to this letter for your
preparation.
