CHILD PROTECTION AND EDUCATION COORDINATOR-NYUNGWE CLUSTER

World Vision is a child-focused Christian humanitarian organization implementing development programs in 30 Districts of Rwanda. World Vision Rwanda seeks to hire a highly qualified, dedicated, and experienced Rwandan national for the role of Child Protection and Education Coordinator and join an established and experienced team. This stimulating position incorporates a range of skills and development in multiple areas, allowing for an exciting opportunity for career growth in a dynamic, global organization. It will be based in Nyamasheke District, Rwanda, and will report to the Program Manager.

Purpose of the position:

The Child Protection (CP) & Education Coordinator will lead, manage and maintain delivery of the cluster‘s technical program to end violence against children and ensure improved literacy for lower grade levels. S/he will work with other sectors to strengthen integrated approaches to achieving child protection and education outcomes, ensuring quality monitoring and evaluation of child protection and education and demonstrating evidence of impact. Her/his role is to ensure that all child protection and education interventions are of a high technical quality to achieve desired outcomes for the most vulnerable boys and girls in Rwanda

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in the fields of Education, Social Work, Social Science or any related field;
  • Experience in instructional approaches, material development, instructional toolkit preparation on CP & Education programme;
  • Experience in providing technical support to district-level education personnel;
  • Ability to work with quality assurance officers, IZU coordinators at local levels, principals, teachers, community partners and volunteers in CP & Education;
  • Interest and ability to relate positively to children, staff and parents.
  • Experience and skills in preparing instructional and training materials appropriate to the needs and interests of children, informal or formal structures for CP and education;
  • Ability to implement community participation strategy  in the improvement of CP & basic education
  • Strong skills in networking with CP & education sector stakeholders in the field as well as other network of organizations;
  • Driving License Category, A with the ability to ride a motorcycle

 KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE
Required Professional ExperienceMust have a proven knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and a practical knowledge of financial systems and internal controls.Must have proven knowledge and experience in accounting packages especially SunSystems & vision executive and an understanding of data processing concepts and systems.Must have proven analytical skills with eye for details.
Required Education,training, license,registration, andcertificationMust have at least a university degree in Finance or Accounting.Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial accounting, preferably within World Vision or any other International NGO.Professional qualification like ACCA, CPA will be added advantage.
Preferred Knowledgeand QualificationsExcellent computer skills in Excel & Sun-systems software/Visions.Experience in managing donor fundsWorking knowledge of Sponsorship and Grants operations, finance services and practices is an added advantage.Good planning and organizational skillsAbility to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff and publicGood Analytical skills necessary.
