invitation of Headteachers, Deputy Headteachers and School- Based Mentors to participate in the CPD programmes -Cohort TWO
Rwanda Basic Education (REB) in partnership with VVOB, University of Rwanda College of Education (UR-CF.), and National Examination and School Inspection Authority (NESA) is implementing a S-year pmgrammc “Learning through Assessment and Data ‘l ‘his programme aims to impmve the Skills, attitudes and competencies of School and educational leaders in schools and across different levels in the education system, with the objective to improve the quality of leaching.
ro strengthen the professional development of educational leaders, REB in collaboration with its partners developed and has been implementing continuous professionål development (CPD) programmes: (I ) CPD Diploma in effective school leadership tor headteachers and deputy headteachers; (2) CPD Certificate inEducational Mentorship and Coaching (CEMC)Tor school-based mentors, These CPD pragrammcs are implemented in cohorts. The first cohort of 230 School-Based Mentors were trained May to December 2023 and have success’Ully completed while the first cohort of 232 I leadteachers and Deputy Headteachers are expected to complete their training in February 2024.
The second cOhort targets230 School-Based Mentors for the CPD Certificate in Educational Mentorship and Coaching (CEMC) and 230 Heádteachèrs and Deputy headtcachers in the CPD Diploma in effective school leadership.
This second cohort will start in January 2024 with Blended Onboarding Course (BLOC) which iS prerequisite to both CPI) training. The mode ofdelivery will be blended (online and face face).
The purpose (fthis lettcr is to request your good office to fácililate these targeted educational leaders to participate in the second cohort oftheobove-mentioned CPD programmes and to request for their close follow up by The District Director or Education (DDE) and Sector Education Inspector (SEIs). The support (.3fThe District Director of Education (DDE) and Secajr Education Inspector(SEIS) incluues but will not be limited to cucouraging trainees to actively attend the course and implement what they learn, follow up on trainees’ participation in the course, in the Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and in
development and implementation of SChool Improvement Ylan and in organization of school-bnsed CPD activities, allow School Based Mentors to conduct CPD activities on Wednesday afternoons and inform REB/TDM&CGC Department and VVOB in case the trainee (Head teacher, Deputy Head teacher or School based mentor) is no longer in this position. The following documents are herewith enclosed for your consideration: the list of selected participants in the prograrnme; the commitment letter to be signed by every participant to the programmes and the calendar of activities, All costs related to monthly internet bundles, transporg, meals, and accommodation for participants will be covered by VVOB.
