EarthEnable is transforming the way people live, by making homes healthier for families
across rural Rwanda. 80% of Rwandans live in homes with dirt floors which are dusty,
unsanitary, and fertile breeding grounds for parasites and germs. While replacing a dirt floor
with concrete has significant health benefits (e.g. reducing diarrhea by 50% and parasitic
infections by 80%), concrete is unaffordable for many who need it.
EarthEnable addresses this pressing and ubiquitous problem by selling high-quality, earthen
floors that are 80% cheaper than concrete with 90% less embedded energy. Earthen floors
are already prevalent in modern homes in the United States and are composed of natural
materials (gravel, clay, sand, and laterite). EarthEnable trains and hires local masons to
install the floors which are sealed using a proprietary drying oil that makes them waterproof,
strong, and polished. In our first 5 years of operations, EarthEnable has installed over 8,000
floors for over 35,000 individuals and currently employs roughly 500 staff.
About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and gritty Analytics Manager who is excited to build a fastgrowing and high-impact organization alongside a passionate and hard-working team. The
Analytics Manager would work closely with the CEO and COO on both a developing and
executing strategy. She or he would develop strategy alongside senior management,
conduct data analysis in order to improve company business practices, support the CEO on

special projects as needed, develop employees across the company, assist in fundraising
efforts, and be a critical thought partner to the CEO and Board.

Responsibilities include:
Systems and Analytics
• Using insights gained from field work and working with EarthEnable’s teams to
improve EarthEnable’s data systems
• Conducting data analysis in order to improve company operations and provide
oversight of departments
• Help CEO, COO, and other senior management members improve EarthEnable
systems department
• Traveling to the field to help oversee EarthEnable’s efforts at data collection
• Work with construction, sales, inventory, finance, and other departments to
determine system needs and work with the systems team to build new tools to meet
those needs
Executive Functions and Special Projects
• Frequently visiting the field operations, participating in developing business strategy,
and understanding the business enough to be able to accurately and effectively
communicate our impact.
• Helping with M&E and oversight of research studies
• Continually improving company organization and efficiency in collaboration with COO
• Assisting the CEO on special projects (especially expansion and scaling focused
projects)
• Assisting the C.E.O with board management, including creating board presentations
and other communications.
Employee Development
• Helping the CEO and other senior managers plan company-wide employee
development
• Building the capabilities of staff in the executive departments and throughout the
company to improve EarthEnable’s long term performance
• Helping employees throughout the company build skills in writing, data analysis,
email communication, PowerPoint composition, and other relevant areas
• Helping more employees throughout the company, especially senior management,
use data to inform management decisions

Finance and Fundraising
• Working with finance team to build models to project EarthEnable’s fundraising
needs
• Working with finance team to ensure current restricted and unrestricted grants are
managed properly
• Supporting on grant budget development and grant applications
Qualifications:
• 2-3 years of experience working in consulting, finance, or in related fields
• Exceptional Excel modelling and data analysis skills
• Demonstrated experience conducting data analysis to attain insights on business
operations and drive business decisions using Excel, STATA, and other relevant
software
• Ability to manage multiple work streams and quickly learn new skills
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Management experience or desire to learn management skills to upskill fellow
employees is a must
• Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, Salesforce, and/or STATA is a plus

About the Role
EarthEnable is looking for someone with exceptional writing skills who can craft captivating
grant applications and insightful donor reports, as a key contributor to EarthEnable’s

Manager and CEO to help EarthEnable shape the future of rural housing and health. Grants

EarthEnable is a non-profit organization with the mission of eliminating substandard housing by
kickstarting an affordable rural housing industry. EarthEnable vets, trains, quality assures and
sells varnish to micro-franchisees and master-franchisees who sell and install EarthEnable’s
flagship earthen floors and other eco-friendly housing products in rural homes.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a motivated and motivating team builder who enjoys developing others. This
person should thrive in working with independent, self-motivated young individuals to help them

As a Franchisee Coordinator, you will work with a group of approximately 10 – 20 young
self-driven people, who we call micro franchisees to support them and help them grow their
earthen products sales businesses. You will serve as EarthEnable’s primary point of contact in
the district, developing and providing training to our ever-growing network and engaging with
these young business men and women by ensuring they comprehend the technical aspects of
the businesses they are doing including soft skills and best practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
● People management
a. Build and develop a high performing team of franchisees through embedding
performance development and coaching. Ensure that they receive coaching and
feedback in order to develop to achieve their maximum potential.
b. Determine and manage training needs for each franchisee
c. Work with the franchisee team to achieve sales, construction targets & service
through village to village business creation activities, effective team leadership
and providing feedback to the team.

d. Ensure that franchisees manage customer complaints by taking ownership and
resolving in a timely manner. Act as the escalation point for their unresolved
complaints.
e. Ensure franchisees motivate and develop their helpers through a proper reward
and recognition system
f. Create an empowering environment for hard working franchisees, encouraging
individual ownership and initiative.
● Business Management
a. Agree on targets and take accountability for the overall achievement of the
performance objectives for the cooperative in terms of : Customer Satisfaction,
Builds, Sales, Loss per SQM, Ensure monitoring of progress towards achieving
targets is done on a regular basis.
b. Ensure that all the paid customers are varnished on a timely basis
c. Ensure all payments due franchisees from EarthEnable and The Water Trust are
remitted on a timely manner
d. Active involvement and accountability in making all varnish purchase/refund
decisions e.g. customer refunds.
e. Offer clear direction to the franchisees in terms of market potential translating
and prioritizing into business performance.
f. Ensure that maintenance documents are given to every customer and regularly
snap check this to find out whether the customers know and understand how to
maintain their floors
g. Establish relationships with key individuals in the local area, such as LC1s, parish
chiefs, sub county chiefs.
h. Support franchisees in marketing to groups such as community cooperatives,
village savings and loan associations etc.
● Compliance
a. Ensure all franchisees are compliant with set floor quality standards and health &
safety standards while applying anti termite
b. Ensure that all members of your team remit money for varnish to you
c. Ensure all the money given to you by the franchisees is immediately paid to The
Water Trust
d. Conduct regular quality checks on floors built by franchisees under your care
e. Ensure that all policies set in the agreement between franchisee and The Water
Trust are being adhered to.
f. Report all incidents of breach within the franchisee agreement to The Water Trust
management team for appropriate action
● Customer Service
a. Take ownership of customer service and ensure timely response to customers on
outstanding/ escalated issues

b. Conduct monthly compliance trend analysis and create action plans to prevent
recurring issues.
c. Ensure all customer floors built by the franchisees are of the highest quality
standard.
d. Through effective franchisee leadership, ensure that customer waiting time is kept
to a minimum. This includes monitoring the Open Issues dashboard which you will
be required to create and calling up the franchisees to take action. You will also
be required to visit these customers to make sure the issues are resolved.
● Administration
a. Escalate on any issues brought to your attention by the franchisees to TWT

franchisees about responses from TWT management
QUALIFICATIONS
● The ideal candidate should have a diploma or degree in education or social works and
social sciences or any business related course.
● Short courses in sales and marketing, leadership is an added advantage
● The Ideal candidate should be a resident within the district (should be able to provide an
LC letter confirming their residency in an area within the district)
● The ideal candidate should be aged between 20 – 40 years old.

experience working with communities

This internship is suitable for someone who is looking to gain experience in finance and
administrative side of running a business. The candidate must be a strong communicator as they
will be liaising just as regularly with senior management as they will with our staff on the ground.
The intern should have an eye for detail as they will be responsible for the information that
management ultimately uses to make strategic decisions. The role requires an intern who is
comfortable using a computer and has good Microsoft Excel skills, and they must be willing to
learn as they will need to quickly adapt to using our bespoke systems. Some of the tasks you
will be asked to perform are:
Control R&D expenses:
● Requesting money needed by R&D team
● Pay materials, services needed by R&D up-on R&D Officer/ Associate request but after
the Manager Approval
● Collaborate with field staff to get a receipt for each payment.
● Clearing all spend money on-time.
● Follow-up with R&D clients to make sure they pay for the service and initiate their
payment into salesforce.
● Trucking materials that are going into construction of a given project ( especially house
project) and do reconciliations against budgeted cost
R&D data entry and clearance:
● Do R&D customer entry to Salesforce
● Do stock movement of materials to R&D clients
● Do stock count at the end of each month
● Collaborate with the operation team to request tools delivery to R&D offices
● Do a timesheet for R&D field staff after checking the work done corresponds to the
payment they are requesting
District Collaboration
● Collaborate with the district staff who work on innovation to pay for them materials and
tools needed after the Associate responsible for innovation approval
● Do follow-up to know that R&D pilots done in different district are recorded well into the
salesforce
